Mangalore, Feb 11: The Citizens for Accountable Governance (CAG), a not-for-profit group has launched 'Chai Pe Charcha', a pan-India initiative which will be held at 1,000 different locations spread over 300 cities, including Mangalore.
The 'Chai Pe Charcha' initiative is a platform to facilitate discussion on local issues between BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi and other national and political leaders and the people of India. This discussion will happen over video conferencing with the help of TV or projector which will be set up at the designated place where various issues will be discussed and people can suggest solutions.
Locals will thus get a chance to interact with Narendra Modi outside tea stalls.
The event will be organised in association with NaMo Brigade on February 12 from 5 pm onwards at six different venues in the city simultaneously. It will be a two-hour event and be held at tea stalls at Kodialbail, Urwa Stores, Padavinangady, Kavoor Sahakari Souda, Asaigoli and next to Gokarna Math at Car Street.
As part of the preparation, CAG volunteers will be involved in setting up the infrastructure in these tea stalls.
CAG associates at each venue will conduct the event in and around tea stalls. The permission of the tea stall owners has been obtained. This event will be a significant and definite step in increasing public awareness and interaction between people in the upcoming elections.
In Karnataka, 'Chai Pe Charcha' is happening across 82 locations in 25 cities.
CAG is a non-profit group which aims to build substantive and purposeful relationships with various establishments in the country and also engage the common mass to further strengthen accountable governance in India.
