Happy that I could produce a clean comedy serial: Asit Modi

Rajkot, Feb 9 (PTI): Asit Modi, producer of the popular comedy television serial 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah', today said he had no time to work on another serial.

"It was my dream as a producer to give a clean comedy serial and I am satisfied that I have done well in producing Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chasmah," Modi said, adding that he had no time to take up another project.

He was here to visit "Astro youth fiesta" organised by various schools of the city.

"I did not want to produce ordinary and cheap comedy show and wanted to produce something new, and I am happy to be associated with the serial which has completed six years recently and is still popular among the television viewers," Modi said, adding that making people laugh was not an easy job.

He also said that Bhavya Gandhi, who plays Tapu, may have to be replaced at some point as his age advances.

He ruled out addition of new characters. "It's not easy to bring new character among the well set-up characters," he said.

Modi said that he changed the original writing by famous Gujarati writer Tarak Mehta to upto 70 per cent while writing the script, with the latter's permission.
