Kasargod: Man who allegedly murdered wife, chopped body into pieces held after 6 years

Kasargod, Feb 6: A man accused of murdering his wife in cold blood six years ago in Thrisshur and then chopping her body into several pieces and throwing them in various places, was arrested by the Kumble police on the night of Tuesday February 4. The accused man's mother was also arrested.
Madrasa teacher Abdul Khader (31) and his mother Nabisa (50), residents of Maravoor, Cheruthuruthi in Trisshur, had been on the run ever since the murder took place back in 2007.

As per the case filed by the police, in 2007, Khader with the help of his father Mammukutty and mother Nabisa had murdered his wife Maimuna at their residence in Motterikunhi in Cheruthuruthi. They had then chopped her body into several pieces, packed them in plastic bags and thrown them in various places.
Soon after the murder, Khader and Nabisa went absconding taking with them a three-month-old baby.
Khader was teaching at a Madrasa in Kasargod. His father Mammukutty who was arrested for the crime was recently awarded death penalty by the court. However, he challenged the verdict in a higher court and the case is on. Mammukutty is presently lodged in Kannur central jail.
It is said that Khader later married a woman from Sullia in Dakshina Kannada district of Karnataka. He was staying at a quarters at Mogral-Puttur (Kerala) with his second wife and mother. The police on Tuesday night raided the quarters and arrested him and his mother.
The arrest operation was led by Kumble circle inspector Sibi Thomas and SI Ashraf of Cheruthuruthi police.
