Kasargod, Feb 5: Police on Wednesday February 5 arrested a person who allegedly sold cigarettes concealed inside pens to students.

The accused is identified as Anangur resident K A Ali (44), who runs a shop near a school in Kasargod town.

Ali was reportedly selling foreign made cigarettes hiding them inside pens. Nearly twenty 'pen cigarettes' and other cigarettes, and tobacco products have been seized from him.

A pen cigarette was initially found in the house of a student. The parents had approached the school and informed the teachers about it.

When officials conducted investigations some more cigarettes were found on the students.

Police complained to Janamaithri police who inspected shops near the school and found pen cigarettes and tobacco products in Ali's shop.

The cigarettes were concealed in plastic pens such that they could be seen only when the pens were opened. Each pack contained five such pens.

The students informed the police that the pen cigarettes were sold in different colours for Rs 10 to Rs 15.

The accused admitted that he brought the cigarettes from Kozhikode. They have been sent to forensic lab for investigation.

Students go to school to study, but the devil is there to tempt and spoil their future. Good, at least some parents who care their children found out. Better not to allow any such shops near by school. Once the student learns a bad habit, then no teacher can remove it by beating. Only by counsel by good teachers. Students take care and be aware.
