Mangalore, Feb 4: In what seems to be a result of gang rivalry, a man accused in a murder case was hacked to death in broad daylight at Suratkal here on Tuesday February 4.

The deceased, identified as Prakash, was an accused in the murder of Shivaraj who was found dead at Jokatte in July 2012.

It is said that Prakash, who was arrested a week after Shivaraj's murder, used to come to Panambur police station to sign the register ever since he was granted bail in the case.

On Tuesday, he had come from Udupi to Panambur police station with his father to sign the register.

Sources said that when Prakash and his father were travelling back to Udupi by bus, a group of unidentified men came in a Maruti Omni and waylaid the bus in front of NIT-K Suratkal. They group barged into the bus, dragged Prakash out and hacked him to death with deadly weapons.

They then fled the spot before anyone could stop them.

The body was shifted to Wenlock.

Shivaraj, who was a mechanic at a car showroom at Kuntikan, was found dead near the railway track at Kodikere, Thokur under Jokatte panchayat limits on July 20, 2012. It was suspected that Shivaraj was used as a bait by his murderers to catch hold of the culprits who murdered Kabir, who in turn was an accused in Polali Ananthu and Sukhanand Shetty murder cases.

I thought this type of filmy incidents just happens in the northern part of India sad to know that it happens in the place where we brand our self as the most educated. Who killed whom or who took the revenge is not the important end of the day a life is lost in the daylight...

Our law is very weak due to the police, government, public servants whom we call MP and MLAs not doing the duty as they should be.Small incidents, political parties giving communal color and evoke sentiments of religion, caste & creed. In this case attackers have no fear of law due to our system of law.We need the law like Saudi to the murderers. Who will give protection if somebody given eye witness. Are our politicians ? Is our Law ? Is our police, government or any communal leaders ?

In south Canara i cannot see any police patrolling during the day and night.
All police officers are sitting comfortably on easy chairs and do their paper work.
Police officers are not to sit at police station home minister has to ask all police officers to patrol, day and night in bike on in jeep to make public safer. Else this will happen again and again.

He is a murder accused. Not convicted yet. He lost his life because of rivals assuming that he is the murderer. What a shame. Wondering how the group got information about his travel by bus to Udupi ???

DK is getting famous for all the bad reasons, instances of daring daylight murders is on the increase!! Getting into a public bus and hacking somebody in broad daylight is sheer brazenness and scant respect for the law and order. Areas like Surathkal are always, becoming notorious, in the news for regular communal flare ups and gang wars, an area not recommended for the peace loving!!

What you would have done? Same thing right. Just don't comment for the sake of commenting. This is rivalry and who will invite trouble? and remember one thing. Those who witnessed the murder may not have weapons to counter these murderers.

Yeah, lets all just make way for the gangs to slaughter each other in broad daylight while we wait for them to finish the job so we can take pictures and discuss what a pathetic state our city is in.

Akhil try to understand one thing. This guy had killed someone. Those who kill somebody will be killed by the same way. That's the reality. My opinion is why other people should stop these other murderers? Are they mad trying to protect this guy when they have weapons?

If he is a real murderer, action within a few months!! Someone may take action on his murderers too! The chain will continue...unless law and order become vigilant and murderers do not get bail at all and remain in far way jails thus reduced crimes!!
