Kundapur, Feb 4: Fans of Sandalwood superstar Puneet Rajkumar went berserk as he arrived in Kundapur on Monday February 3 to attend a programme. Puneet was supposed to attend the inauguration of Sri Narayana air-conditioned auditorium on Sunday February 2, but could not make it due to a shooting schedule. However, he did come on Monday, and as soon the news of his arrival spread, his fans swarmed in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the star.

It is a popular notion that people in the coastal region are not too fond of Sandalwood stars. However, the assumption was proved false as the crowd broke into a frenzy at Puneet's arrival.  The excitement hit through the roof as he was about to leave the hall.

Police had to struggle hard to control the crowd that went berserk. There was almost a stampede as some of the people fell and got up in the melee.  As Puneet’s car went past the crowd of fans, there was a heavy traffic jam.

Actor and producer Sadhu Kokila also had arrived at the stage. While Puneet sang the song of 'Mylari' for the fans, he danced to the tune of 'Yare Koogadali' sung by Sadhu.  The two actors were felicitated at the venue.  The Billawa Samaja programme was celebrated for two days with gaiety.

Now a days Kannada movies are very worst...they are using more double meaning, worst communication...First understand the difference between Kannada language and Kannada film. We can get Aishwarya also... just remember Bunts Sangha Mangalore function some few years back...Sunil Shetty...Tulu Sammelana...Sheetal Mallara...Billava Women function held in Mangalore...We can watch any film without restriction right? Most of the Kannadigas watching Telugu movies now a days...I can watch Tulu to English, Chinese, European movies

For the people who prefer non-kannada films, actors :

You may watch other films and entertainment. But when you arrange some cultural programs for your any events, can you get some non-kannada stars for the show? Will Bachchan, your own Aishwarya, Khan, King, Rajanikanth etc come to your events? Not, not at all. Only our people can come to our events.

Not all Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam films are good. But still they watch their films because they know it is "THEIRS". This is the only difference between kannadigas and other people.Shivraj Kumar's Bhajarangi was released in Pune, Mumbai, Surat, Delhi, Cochin, Chennai and Hyderabad. How many non resident Kannadigas watched?

I thank Puneet, Kokila, Aindrita etc for visiting our function. Thanks to PV Mohan, who got them here.

Dinesh Poojary I support you in this case.

Puneeth is the Kohinoor of Indian cinema itself. At a young age, he won the national award for "bettada hoovu". Corporates swear by him. He has the highest endorsements and one of the top earners. It is perfectly understandable why people of Mangalore went bezerk seeing a top star. He is a worthy son of his illustrious father no doubt. His brother Shivanna's recent movie Bhajarangi broke all the opening records of KFI. all in all...great to see Sandalwood shining!

Kannada Warrior, surathkal correct, but the problem with our DK people is that they think that watching the Kannada movie is like an insult to them. They always wish to watch English or Hindi movies, even though they don't understand it.

Achhu, Mlore off course at the point of time Puneet can't be compared with Raj Kumar, but Puneet is also an good actor since his childhood.
