Kundapur, Feb 4: Fans of Sandalwood superstar Puneet Rajkumar went berserk as he arrived in Kundapur on Monday February 3 to attend a programme. Puneet was supposed to attend the inauguration of Sri Narayana air-conditioned auditorium on Sunday February 2, but could not make it due to a shooting schedule. However, he did come on Monday, and as soon the news of his arrival spread, his fans swarmed in large numbers to catch a glimpse of the star.
It is a popular notion that people in the coastal region are not too fond of Sandalwood stars. However, the assumption was proved false as the crowd broke into a frenzy at Puneet's arrival. The excitement hit through the roof as he was about to leave the hall.
Police had to struggle hard to control the crowd that went berserk. There was almost a stampede as some of the people fell and got up in the melee. As Puneet’s car went past the crowd of fans, there was a heavy traffic jam.
Actor and producer Sadhu Kokila also had arrived at the stage. While Puneet sang the song of 'Mylari' for the fans, he danced to the tune of 'Yare Koogadali' sung by Sadhu. The two actors were felicitated at the venue. The Billawa Samaja programme was celebrated for two days with gaiety.
