Mangalore, Feb 2: "Kiran Technologies, as part of its corporate social responsibility, will launch an internet entrepreneurship training programme free of cost for women who are interested in starting a business online," said Shanavas, CEO, Kiran Technologies.
Announcing this at a press meet here on Saturday February 1, he said, "This internet entrepreneurship training platform will be conducted in our Bangalore and Mangalore offices on weekends. We recognize the need to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship and financial independence in women; we are looking forward to train and assist hundreds of women from February onwards.
"Women who are interested can register on our website www.keentechnoto.com or call us on 91 80889 20302," he informed, adding that the training programme will be provided using their training platform Keen Technoto.
Elaborating on the need for launching the programme, she said, "The internet in India has seen exponential growth, penetrating not just the big cities but smaller towns as well. Sixty million Indian women currently use the internet for data consumption, search, social networking, e-mail, and shopping. The internet can help women achieve self-esteem, express their views freely, open up new opportunities, and help them gain education.
"However, the internet has been used mainly for communication and connecting purposes. It is important to recognize the internet as a global platform to showcase talents, knowledge, and skills in a profitable manner by selling or promoting products and services online – internet entrepreneurship," he said.
“Today, women who did not even have the privilege to pursue their dreams are aware of this internet platform. Kiran Technologies aims to provide training workshops for these women, through which they can learn about online tools and social media to start their own business. The simplest and most interesting ways to start earning online is to make a business out of one’s hobbies and passions. Women who are passionate about hobbies like writing, fashion designing, travelling, painting, teaching, interior designing, or those who possess any other skills, knowledge and experience can use this platform to earn an income. Even with their hobbies like cooking, baking, home remedies, beauty treatments, crafts etc, a woman can use the internet to start and promote an online business.
"Through web solutions and social media, products can be sold to a global audience with minimal investment from the convenience of their homes , thereby giving them a chance to become independent and empowered. Starting a business online is possible using nominal investment and involving minimum risk. Usually a traditional offline business involves high risk, high investment, and genius ideas. The biggest positive advantage of online media is that any simple idea can be made successful using the right strategies and targeting the right audience. The internet has made it possible for any business to succeed online,” he said.
"Hence we at Kiran Technologies have decided as part of our corporate social responsibility to extend internet entrepreneurship training programme free of cost to women by using our training platform Keen Technoto," added Shanavas.
