Hope to get an action film after 'Khatron...': Ranvir Shorey

Mumbai, Feb 1 (IANS): Actor Ranvir Shorey, who has mostly done comedy or serious films, now wants to feature in a complete action entertainer. He hopes that his stint at the fifth season of action-adventure show "Khatron Ke Khiladi" will send out the right signals to filmmakers.

"You can say that I have never done an all out action role so far. But with this I am hoping that I can send out a signal to filmmakers that I am keen to do action and stunt-oriented roles as well," Ranvir said at the launch of "Khatron Ke Khiladi 5".

Ranvir admitted that his wife-actress Konkona Sen Sharma was concerned about him but he wanted to do something "adventurous" in his life and that's why he took the show.

"She was a little concerned, she wanted me to be sure of what I am doing. But this is what I promised myself, to do something adventurous when I turn 40. So this is it," said the actor.

The new season of "Khatron Ke Khiladi" features 12 contestants including actors Rajniesh Duggal, Niketan Dheer, Dayananad Shetty, Mahhi Vij, Pooja Gor, Kushal Tandon, Gauahar Khan, choreographer-actor Salman Yusuff Khan, actress Mugdha Godse, stuntwoman Geeta Tandon and Femina Miss India International Rochelle Maria Rao.

The show will be shot in Cape Town, South Africa, this year.
