Doha, Jan 31: Karnataka Sangha Qatar organized a wonderful get-together at Al Wakrah Gardens recently for members of the Association with their families. The event was revived after many years and it was well attended and appreciated by the members.
More than 200 members of KSQ, including few new Kannadigas attended the get-together. Many of them travelled in buses and a few cars from here at 7.30 am.
Deepak Shetty, president of the club addressed the gathering and began the day’s events with his welcome note.
Four teams were formed and a number of games were organized for all age groups throughout the day that also included many team games. The highlight of the day was the skit competition and with the active participation one could spot lot of talents with many new faces, especially in the skits presented with the four themes namely marriage, fish market, bar and a classroom.
KSQ vice-president Nagesh Rao, general secretary Mahesh Gowda, H K Madhu, Subramanya, Sandesh Anand, Jawahar, Anil Boloor, Tufail Mateen, Sunil Kamalaksha, Noor Ahmed, Muruli, Manjunath, Shilpa Mannangi, Shubha, Hema and Shilpa Shetty were actively involved in arranging the get-together. V S Mannangi, chairman, advisory board, Arun Kumar, past president, Prabhakar, past president, Dr Sanjay Kudari, advisor sports were also present and assisted in organizing many games.
Karnataka Sangha Qatar, thanked all its members and volunteers who helped directly and indirectly to make the get-together a memorable one.
