Mumbai, May 20: The Bombay High Court on Friday refused to restrain the Censor Board from allowing the exhibition of controversial movie 'The Da Vinci Code'.

Hearing a petition seeking a ban on the film, Justice K J Rohee said that at this stage, granting any interim relief of such kind would be premature because the Censor Board is yet to grant permission to exhibit the movie.

Earlier, in the course of hearing, the Censor Board told the court that though it has cleared the movie, it would be given the certificate only after inserting a disclaimer that the film is a piece of fiction.

As of now, the film has not got censor certificate, though a decision has been taken to grant the same after putting in a disclaimer.

The judge held that the petition which had objected to the release of the movie has sought a criminal action against the film's distributors and Board chairperson Sharmila Tagore for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Christians, would be taken up for hearing after the summer vacation.
