Oman govt promotes Mangalorean Dr Rajendra Kamath as colonel

Muscat, Jan 29: Dr Bola Rajendra Kamath who has been serving as senior consulatant physician in Oman's Defence Hospital for the last 22 years has been promoted to the rank of 'colonel' by the Oman government.
This is the highest honour bestowed on medical staff who work in the Oman defence sector.
Dr Kamath hails from Mulky. He completed his MBBS and MD from KMC Manipal, and later earned MRCP and FRCP degrees in London.
The colonel honour was conferred on Dr Rajendra Kamath by an Oman government official recently.
Earlier, Dr Kamath had also bagged a special medal from the Royal family for his dedicated service in the field of medicine.
