Dubai: Soon, a movie on 2010 Mangalore air crash

Dubai, Jan 27: The tragic Dubai-Mangalore Air India Express crash of May 2010, which left 158 people dead including the crew, will soon be depicted on the big screen.
A feature film in Malayalam focussing on the air crash is on the cards and shooting is expected to begin in about three months.
A part of the movie will be shot in the UAE, particularly Dubai, as the tragedy involved passengers travelling from Dubai to Mangalore.
The movie, titled 'Eni Mazhayulola Nattilekku' (Now Towards a Rainy Abode), is being directed by Shaheer Ummer, a Keralite who has been living in the UAE from past several years.
The film aims to portray the humane side of the tragedy, focussing on the victims and their kin who are still awaiting compensation. Shaheer Ummer said at a press conference on Saturday January 25 in Dubai that he has personally visited the families and tried to understand what they have been going through for the past four years since the tragedy.
Shaheer also happen to be the general secretary of Human Rights Youth group in Kerala.
Shaheer added that the sufferings of the victims' kin had moved him to make a film telling their side of the story.
Several senior actors from Malayalam and Kannada film industry will be part of the movie along with Dubai-based talents.
The film producers will also try to help a few of the victims' kin during the course of the shooting, Shaheer said.
The film is being produced under the banner of Golden Seven Productions. Abdul Rasheed is the co-producer. The cinematography is by Dubai-based Anil Vadakkekkara, and Rafeeq Ahmed is the lyricist. The music will be composed by Maneesh Thampan.
