'RA' first southern film to launch a game


Chennai, Jan 27 (IANS): Following in the footsteps of Bollywood films such as "Dhoom: 3" and "Krrish 3", the makers of forthcoming Tamil fantasy thriller "RA" claim that their film will be the first in southern filmdom to launch a movie-based game.

"RA" will be the first film to come out with an Android and iPhone platform game in the southern film industry. It will be start the next level of promotions, attracting more audiences and reaching the corners of the social networking world, said a statement from the film's production house, Plan A Studios.

Since the movie is a fantasy thriller with a deep intense psychological meaning, the concept of coming out with a game was a simple task, the statement further said.

The makers believe games have taken promotions to the next level.

"User-friendly interfaces and addictive game plots have helped films augment promotions. Technology has given us various branches of its unique brilliance to reach people now and then through social networking sites, which have become the fore frontier in today's world," said the statement.

"Bollywood films are trying to compete with and match Hollywood films with their production values and technology. Films like Krrish 3', 'Dhoom: 3', 'Chennai Express' and 'Race 2' have developed games to promote their films and were successful too," the statement added.

'RA Game: The Endless Beginning' is likely to be launched in February during the film's audio launch.

Directed by Sam Anton, the film features Ashraf, Aditi Chengappa, Geetha Babu and Lawrence in lead roles.
