Bangalore: Archbishop, state home minister among dignitaries at KE Entreprenet

Bangalore, Jan 26: Archbishop of Bangalore Most Rev Dr Bernard Moras and Karnataka Home Minister K J George will be among the several dignitaries attending the first-ever biennial global convention of Kanara Entrepreneurs (KE) Entreprenet 2014 in Bangalore, which will be inaugurated on January 31.
While Bangalore has been chosen as the venue of the KE Global Convention for the first two time, the earlier two editions were held in Mumbai.
Archbishop Bernard Moras will be presiding over the inaugural session, which is being held at the Hotel Park Plaza, at Marathahalli in Bangalore, while the State Home Minister K J George will be the chief guest. Chairman on Manipal Global Education Services Pvt Ltd T V Mohandas Pai will be delivering the key-note address on ''Building Business Leaders.”
Dr Devi Prasad Shetty, Chairman and Consulting Surgeon of Narayana Hrudayalaya Group of Hospitals, will be the key-note speaker at the valedictory session on February 1.
Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Chairman of Conference Committee of Entreprenet 2014 Mark D’Souza said innovating the art of business leadership has been chosen as the theme of the Global Convention.
Signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Christ University, represented by its Vice Chancellor Rev Dr Thomas C Mathew and KE will be the highlight of the Bangalore Edition of the Entreprenet 2014 Global Convention, Mark D’Souza said.
Adrian D’Souza, Chairman of Finance and Business Plan Contest, said the finals of the first-of-its-kind initiative, ''Emerging Entrepreneur Business Plan Contest,” whose preliminary rounds were held in Mumbai, Mangalore and Bangalore during the months of October to December 2013, would be held during the Global Convention.
Two teams – Vollet and Floaster – have been adjudged for the top slots and the winner will get a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh with Rs 60,000 for the runners-up. The winning team is also eligible for the benefit of mentoring and opportunity for getting investment upto Rs 1 crore, Adrian D’Souza said.
Peter Anil Rego, Chairman of Marketing and Sponsorship, pointed out that there was tremendous enthusiasm among the participants drawn from students on the Emerging Entrepreneur Business Plan Contest and KE was likely to hold the contest as an annual feature.
With as many as 400 delegates drawn from India and even abroad expected to participate in the two-day event, in which several key business leaders, experts from financial, tax and other sections as also successful entrepreneurs sharing their expertise and experiences, there was still few slots for any interested persons to register themselves and attend the Entreprenet 2014 Global Convention, said Clarence Pereira, Chairman of Hospitality.
