Kundapur: Police raid illegal slaughter house, accused escapes

Kundapur, Jan 23: The police on Thursday January 23 raided an illegal slaughter house at Kandla Gaddhe in Gulvady village and seized 10 cows.
The accused Abubakker (35) of Gulvady, who was running the slaughter house, managed to escape from the spot.
The raid was carried out based on a complaint by Ravi from Jalady in Hemmady. His complaint stated that two of his cows had gone missing on Wednesday January 22 night.
Acting on a tip off, the police raided the place, seized 10 cows and a Mahendra pickup van with Maharashtra registeration, valued at Rs 2.25 lac.
The raid was carried out at around 12 noon by SI Jayaram Gowda and team.
Accused Abubakker had been arrested for illegal cattle slaughter on a previous occasion too.
Kundapur police have registered a case.
