Mangalore: Gold worth Rs 12.14 lac seized from passenger at Airport

Mangalore, Jan 21: The officers of customs at Mangalore International Airport seized gold worth Rs 12.14 lac from a passenger on Tuesday January 21.
The passenger was identified as Abdul Basheer Puthiyavalappu Moideenkutty, a resident of Puthiyavalappu, Chengala, Kasargod.
The customs officials seized five gold wires coated with silver paint totally weighing 406.180 grams approximately valued at Rs 12,14,478.
The gold wires were concealed in the beading of a strolley suitcase belonging to Basheer.
Basheer arrived at the airport on January 21 at around 7.45 am by Air India Express flight IX 814 from Dubai.
