New Delhi, Jan 20 (IANS): Canadian thriller "Rock Paper Dice Enter", directed and produced by Indian origin filmmakers based in Canada, will hit the screens in 10 Indian cities Feb 7.
Directed by Shreela Chakrabartty, the film features producer-writer Kash Gauni in the lead role.
"Rock Paper Dice Enter" will be released in Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Surat, Pune, Lucknow and Hyderabad as part of PVR Director's Rare selection, which supports the theatrical release of independent films.
Chakrabartty hopes the "global" story appeals to all.
"The title of the film suggests a game of life we currently play using a keyboard and by taking chances. Every individual is accountable for his or her actions based on decisions taken with the information on hand.
"Corruption spreads like cancer. For filmmakers, this makes the perfect backdrop for an intelligent, entertaining ride. It is interesting that India was quick to pick up on this," Chakrabartty said in a statement.
The director said that the idea behind the movie was to work on something "commercial", which "has the capacity to show off Canadian talent to the largest audiences possible".
"Rock Paper Dice Enter" is set in the fictitious city of Strathaven, a hub for cyber security and prosperity in North America. On a rain soaked late night in an upper middle class, college town, Roman, the main character, alerts City Intelligence of a security breach that sets off a series of events around the incident of a seemingly unrelated diamond heist.
