Mangalore : Police foil 'pub attack' kind of incident at Pumpwell

Mangalore, Jan 19: Mangalore police reportedly foiled a 'pub attack' kind of incident on Saturday, January 18 at Pumpwell.
City's Hi Bar Lounge and Grill was reportedly hosting a party organised by a youth of a certain community, but Bajrang Dal members received information that Hindu girls were participating in the party. The BD members informed the police control room and requested them to stop the DJ party immediately, adding that if police failed to take action, they would take matters into their own hands and stop the party forcefully.
Kadri police immediately swung into the action, and stopped the party. More than 50 boys and girls who pariticipated in the party were evacuated from the backdoor to avoid any untoward incident.
A youth from Kannur had organised the party with Rs 200 as entry fee for singles and Rs 300 for couples. It is said that more number of young girls and boys were expected to participate in the party during the evening hours.
Though there were some tense moments, police successfully sent the youth out of the pub at around 5.30 pm.
At the same time, Bajarang Dal has submitted a memorandum to police to stop all DJ parties in the city by 11.30 pm, and also to take action against illegal pubs.
