Udupi: Bishop Dr Gerald conveys best wishes to Paryaya celebrations

Udupi, Jan 17: Bishop of Udupi Dr Gerald Isaac Lobo has conveyed his best wishes to Paryaya celebrations and to Sri Vidyavallabhatheertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Math who will be ascending the Paryaya Peetha on Saturday January 18.
"The chief of each of the eight Maths in Udupi takes turns once in every two years to conduct rituals at and run Udupi Sri Krishna Math. On behalf of the diocese of Udupi and the entire Christian community, I congratulate and wish good luck to Sri Vidyavallabhatheertha Swamiji of Kaniyoor Math who will be taking over the responsibility this time," Bishop Dr Gerald said in a press release.
"Udupi has become popular the world over as the land of Maths. Devotees from all over the world visit Udupi and Sri Krishna Math in particular for worship. Unhindered service to God and peace have ruled Udupi due to the Ashta Mathas installed by Sri Madhwacharya. The ascetic life they lead and the projects and works undertaken by the leaders of the Maths for social welfare are appreciated by all," the release added.
"May God bless the head of Sri Kaniyoor Math while taking over the responsibility as Paryaya swamji. I pray that God guides him every step of the way and makes him a strong instrument of welfare of the world. May the prayers and best wishes of the Christian breathren in the Udupi diocese be with you," the bishop said.
