Mangalore: Woman from Kerala found dead in hotel room, murder suspected

Mangalore, Jan 17: In a suspected case of murder, a woman from Kerala was found dead in a hotel room here on Friday January 17 morning.

The woman has been identified as Alikutty (70), wife of Thomas.

It is suspected that she was murdered many hours ago, as body was partly decomposed.

Police sources said that she had come with a man on January 14 at around 3 pm and booked a room in the hotel.

On Friday morning, when the hotel staff went to the room to ask whether they wanted to continue their stay, the room was found locked. Suspecting that something was amiss, they got the room opened and found the woman lying dead.

The man who had come with her is suspected to have locked the room and left without being noticed.

The woman is said to be from Alakode in Kannur, Kerala.

Bunder police rushed to the spot and investigations are on.

    Very Sad, but why not hotel management before giving room not take any ID or any proof of them... without inquiring how they have given room for them... it is totally illegal, if they have taken any proof of them today its too helpful to find that cruel person, why not our Govt ordering each (5 star or 3 stars hotels) hotels must take ID proof before giving room, if Govt take such step of like ..Nobody have dared to do this type of criminal work.. and never will happen like that incident... now Our Beautiful Managlore name is in Blacklist ,,,before our Managlore Yelli noditharalli hasire hasiru.. egaa nodidare yellellu kempu nethare netharu...     The hotel must keep identity cards of all enter and stay. Full address with at least 1 photo which can returned when they check out. The room boys has to check in the morning and in the evening, daily, twice or the customer has to report at the counter, sign the daily sheet.

    thats why cctv camera must be made compulsory in hotel, petrolpump, etc so that some clue can be taken., but still this is very strange that hotel staff had not gone to their room for the last three days., i hope cops would have made this point in their mind

    Usually when a Hotel guests' room should be cleaned and beds should be done daily.Or in Mangalore not done? This is the result of not attending it.The crime must have taken place on the same night they arrived.because the Body was composed.why did they come here to commit murder.sad for the woman and her Family.

    It should be mandatory to keep a scanned copy of genuine photo identity cards of guests during checking in hotels. These are the consequences of not following the rules and regulations.
