Los Angeles, Jan 15 (IANS): Twentieth Century Fox has acquired the film rights of best selling collectible card game - Magic: The Gathering - from toy-making company Hasbro.
The movie will be produced by Simon Kinberg, reports hollywoodreporter.com.
The epecially designed game was introduced in 1993 by Wizards of the Coast and was bought by Hasbro in 1999, by acquiring licenses and creating card games based on properties such as Star Wars and Pokemon.
Hasbro chief executive officer (CEO) Brian Goldner and Stephen Davis and Wizards of the Coast CEO Greg Leeds will be executive producers along with Aditya Sood and Josh Feldman.
