Polish theatre groups set to mesmerise Indian audiences


New Delhi, Jan 15 (IANS): Polish theatre groups Studio Matejka and Teatr Biuro Podrozy led by Jerzy Grotowski are all set to wow Indian audiences with their plays.

Teatr Biero Podrozy will perform on Jan 27 and Jan 29 at the 6th edition of the International Theatre Festival of Kerala.

Studio Matejka will present an act at the 16th edition of Bharat Rang Mahotsav by National School of Drama on Jan 18 here and at the International Theatre Festival of Kerala on Feb 2.

Polish Institute is instrumental in bringing the two theatre groups to the country.

"The Polish Institute, New Delhi is grateful to Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi for having created a platform for collaborative theatre project and for taking the world of theatre to unmatched heights," Anna Tryc-Bromley, director, Polish Institute, said in a statement.

Directed by Matej Matejka, Studio Matejka will present "Awkward Happiness or Everything I Don’t Remember About Meeting You”.

Teatr Biuro Podrozy will showcase the 60-minute “Burning Flowers-7 Dreams of a Woman” act.
