Mangalore: Enthusiastic response to AAP membership drive in city

Mangalore, Jan 12: People of different age groups and different walks of life thronged to BEM High School here on Sunday January 12 to register themselves as the members of the Aam Aadmi Party during its membership drive programme.
In all, as many as 410 new members were registered in the two-hour drive, while more than 700 people participated in the informal gathering that supplemented the drive.
The new members were drawn from diverse sections of the society including professionals, students, and retired personnel, which included sizeable number of women. The number of senior citizens out-numbered the other sections of people present.
The gathering stressed the need for strengthening the party at the grassroots level and look forward to field a strong candidate in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections from the Mangalore constituency.
The new members along with the already registered members shared their opinions on the way forward. AAP district office-bearers Dharmendra, Rohan Shiri and S Nandagopal spoke on the occasion.
