Mumbai, Jan 11: A discourse on Kanakadasa poetry will be held at the office of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha on Sunday January 12 at 4.30 pm under the aegis of Goregaon Karnataka Sangha Grantayana divison and the Kanakadasa research center of Mangalore university. The office of Goregaon Karnataka sangha is situated at 5-6, Premabindu, M G Road, adjacent to S V Road, Goregaon west.
The programme is titled “Kula kulavendu hodedadadiri” (do not fight on the basis of caste).
Renowned social activist, medical practitioner and progressive poet Dr H S Anupama will inaugurate the programme.
Mangalore university Kanaka Peeta correspondent and senior scholar Dr Shivarama Shetty will deliver keynote address.
Goregaon Karnataka Sangha president Prayyaru Ramesh Shetty will preside over the programme.
Vidya Deshpande, Nikhil Amin, Seema Kulkarni, Vasudha Nayak, Usha Shetty and Rakshita Nayak will lead recitation of Kanakadasa poetry. They will be assisted in six groups by Vasanti Kotekar, Veda Suvarna, Neeta Shetty, Pooja Poojary, Mohini Poojary, Susheela Nayak, Nagaratna Nayak, Sumitra Kunder, Sumitra Gujaran, Akshari Anchan and Pratiksha Nayak.
Rangastala Grantayana directors Petri Vishwanath Shetty and Shakuntala Prabhu have said that literary enthusiasts are welcome at the programme.
