Mangalore-born actress Anushka Shetty to charm fans in Dubai

Dubai, Jan 10: Mangalore-born Sweety Shetty, better known by her screen name Anushka Shetty, will be in Dubai on a two-day trip on Saturday January 11 and Sunday January 12.
Anushka is a leading actress in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. She made her acting debut in the 2005 Telugu film 'Super' and rose to fame following her performance in 'Vikramarkudu' (2006) which became her first commercial success. She made her debut in Tamil cinema with Rendu (2006).
Anushka Shetty will be visiting Rakesh Malli’s ‘Spice & Flavours Indian Restaurant’ at Sea View Hotel, Mina (opposite Dubai Port & Customs) on Sunday January 12 from 8 pm to 9 pm. Her fans can interact with her at this restaurant during the one hour dine.
After starring in a series of high-budget productions alongside leading Telugu actors, she went on to become one of Telugu cinema's leading actresses in the successive years, while receiving high critical acclaim for her portrayal of the titular character in Arundhati (2009), and as Saroja in Vedam (2010), which fetched her two Filmfare, one Nandi and two CineMAA Awards. In the 2010s, Shetty also achieved success in Tamil cinema; the action-masala flick Singam (2010), and its sequel Singam II (2013) were big commercial successes, while her performances in Vaanam (2011) and Deiva Thirumagal (2011) won her critical praise.
Anushka Shetty is an ethnic Bunt hailing from the Bellipady Uramalu Guthu family. Her parents are Prafulla and A N Vittal Shetty. She has two brothers Gunaranjan Shetty and Sai Ramesh Shetty who is a cosmetic surgeon. She did her schooling in Bangalore and bachelor of computer applications from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She was also a yoga instructor and has trained under yoga guru Bharat Thakur.
Her latest films include Selvaraghavan's fantasy adventure 'Irandam Ulagam' opposite Arya, and she is working on two magna opera, Gunashekar's bilingual 'Rani Rudrama Devi', in which she portrays the titular role of Kakatiya dynasty queen Rudrama Devi, and S S Rajamouli's trilingual 'Baahubali', which is reported to be the costliest Telugu film.
