Houstan, Jan 5 (IANS): Former US first lady Barbara Bush was discharged from a Houston hospital, a family spokesman said.
Bush, 88, was admitted to Houston Methodist Hospital Dec 30 for treatment of what an official statement said was "a respiratory-related issue", Xinhua reported Saturday.
Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath told media Friday that doctors were pleased at how well Barbara Bush responded to treatment.
Wife of George H.W. Bush, the 41st US president, and mother of George W. Bush, the 43rd president, she is one of only two women to be both the wife and mother of US presidents.
