Mangalore: Passenger from Dubai arrested at Airport for holding fake passport

Mangalore, Dec 31: The immigration officials at Mangalore International Airport on Sunday December 29 arrested a man for trying to enter the city with a fake passport.
52-year-old Abdul Rahiman, a native of Bekal, Kasargod was arrested by Mangalore imigration officials for holding a forged passport.
Rahiman had boarded the12.30 pm Air India Express flight at Dubai airport terminal 2. The flight landed at around evening 5.30 pm in Mangalore. Rahiman was accused of using fake stamps of Dubai and Mumbai immigration offices in his passport.
October 2011, Kerala police had filed a case against Rahiman and his original passport had been confiscated. Out on bail, he had used fake passport to travel to Dubai.
It said that he had manipulated the name and address in the passport with fake immigration stamps. He little knew that today's in today's computerized world any such corrections or fake details are detected at the immigration office.
Bajpe police have registered a case against Rahiman. Kerala police are also expected to take custody of the accused for further interrogation in the 2011 case.
