Mangalore: T3 gets top CSR award for developing villages
Media Release
Mangalore, Dec 28: T3 Urban Developers Ltd was awarded the Best Corporate Social Responsibility Company 2013 by Franchise India Magazine in association with CREDAI and MCHI, in a glittering ceremony during the 6th Estate Awards in Hotel Lalit Intercontinental, Mumbai recently.
T3 was selected among many stalwarts from the industry. The award was given for the outstanding social work done by T3 in the interior villages rather than in the cities, unlike most other corporate companies.
In his acceptance speech V P Lobo, chairman and managing director of T3 said, “It is very surprising as well as encouraging to receive this recognition. I am from a humble rural background and therefore my focus has been the people who live in villages. It is very comfortable living in cities with all facilities almost at hand. However, the far flung villages do not even have some basic facilities. We are keeping aside an amount from our profits for these noble causes. I hope and pray that more and more of my industry colleagues will reach out to the villages and help the poor villagers to live a better life”.
Most of the corporate companies do social service in and around cities where they are located. However, T3 has been working in the remote villages. T3 has provided electricity connections to 110 houses in 3 villages in Karnataka. It has built a house for a very poor family from the backward class. T3 has been sending many children from very poor families to English medium schools. It has also built a beautiful bus stand for a village. T3 has a charity trust exclusively for the English medium education of poor children from villages.
