Mumbai, Dec 26: “Our famous novels such as Ramayana and Mahabharatha have valuable ideals.  When we hear and read them, we come across new human values.  We should look at our environment with clear eyes without ill feelings and anger and grasp things that are valuable and give up thoughts that are detrimental to our living” said international philosopher and thinker Dr Ranganatha Bharadhwaja.

Bharadwaja was speaking after inaugurating Granthayana programme held by Goregaon Karnataka Sangha on Sunday, December 22.  He continued to add that we should look for answers to questions arising in our minds instead of sitting like helpless people.

“There is no pupil without a teacher.  It is effective to take a student to the garden than showing pictures of fruits and vegetable. Similarly when children participate in dramas their horizon widens.  It takes them to manual activities from books and writing.   I have trained children of I B Patel Municipal school for two days which has been satisfying.  Such programmes should continue”, said popular dramatist and director Subraya Bhat.      

Three generations should join hands to build Karnataka culture in Mumbai.  Both men and women should work hand in hand.  We have done such an attempt here.  We have received necessary cooperation.  Though everybody is talented, there is a need for opportunities.  Granthayana and Rangasthala are providing them.  It is heartening to note that the cooperation of Dr Ranganath Bharadwaj and Subraya Bhat are available to us.  Sadananda Suvarna, dramatist has initiated the programme and guided us, said Shakunata Prabhu, president of the programme.

Vasudha Nayak presented her first story followed by small stories by Alumalu Aiyar and enthusiastic writer Sharada Anchan.  Poet Gopala Trasi gave a lecture on foresight on children’s dramas.  He spoke how dramas can be used for the evolution of talents in children.

A symbolic inauguration of the programme was led by Akshata Acharya of E I B School, Uma Valmiki, Anjali Nalvar, Neha Koli, Priyanka Rathore, Anjali Gowda, Supriya Bhing, Shilpa Shetty, Rahul Vaddar, Sahana Shetty, Sachin Byregowda, Jyothi Vaddar, Kusuma Suryavamshi, Ganesh Parit, Harish Parit, children and Vinayaka Biradar, headmaster of the school, school teachers Ananda Shidhe and Maruthi Rathod.  When Roses were given to the chief guests, they kept in the flower vases, starting the programme.

Petri Vishwanath Shetty welcomed the gathering and gave an introductory speech.  The guests were introduced by Vasudha Nayak and Rakshitha Nayak.  S M Shetty member of the sangh presented the headmaster a flower bouquet.  The programme held in the presence of Payyaru Ramesh Shetty, president of the sangh was compered by Sujatha Shetty.  Mohini Poojary proposed vote of thanks.
