Mangalore, Dec 23: The CD Wilfy's compositions Volume 44 was released on Sunday December 22 at St Joseph Church, Jeppu by Fr Nelson Dalmeida after the Mass in the presence of parishioners.
Even though the legendary singer Wilfy Rebimbus is not in our midst physically, his voice, his lyrics, his songs and tunes will never fade from any Konkani household, said Fr Dalmeida. Over the last 50 years, be it any occasion wedding, christening, housewarming or even a birthday party, one can hear his rich meaningful songs. The songs composed in the 1970s stand out even to this day. It is truly said, time may fly, rivers may dry, but Wilfy’s songs will always remain in the heart of Konkani lovers.
The collection of songs he has left unreleased are ample, and the newly released Volume 44 has 10 songs from Wilfy’s compositions. Joining his songs for the first time, 'Konkan Mynah' Meena Rebimbus has rendered her composition too.
