Mangalore: Adoor Ibrahim appointed deputy commissioner of DK

Mangalore, Dec 22: Adoor B Ibrahim has been appointed as the new deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district.
He takes over the post following the recent transfer of N Prakash, who has been appointed as labour commissioner, Bangalore.
A B Ibrahim, as he is better known, had in 1996 served as commissioner of Mangalore City Corporation. A KAS officer since early 1990s, he was promoted to the rank of IAS last year.
He began his career in Karnataka as a probationary officer at Karwar and has served in various capacities in Hassan, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Mysore, Dharwad, Gulbarga, Bangalore and other districts.
As MCC commissioner, he undertook the renovation of Town Hall and various other development works, including concreting of roads. He even won the best corporation commissioner award from the state government.
He was managing director of the Chamundeshwari Electric Supply Corporation (CESC) Ltd, Mysore, before being appointed to his new post as DC of DK district. He has also served as MD of KEONICS and Mysore Lamps Ltd, Bangalore, CEO of Karnataka Wakf Board, Bangalore.
