Ajmer, Apr 26: A local court on Wednesday remanded the prime accused in the rape of a Japanese woman at Pushkar in the district and his mother in judicial custody on completion of their police interrogation.
Bablu, 22, and his mother Roshni were produced in the court of Pushkar judicial magistrate Kishan Lal Choudhary who sent them to jail.
The court had granted the police a day's remand yesterday to complete the interrogation.
The questioning of Bablu and Roshni had been completed and the 'challan' (legal notice) was expected to be submitted in the court on April 29, Pushkar police station SHO Sugan Singh said.
The Japanese woman had on April 19 faxed her complaint from Agra to the Ajmer superintendent of police that she was allegedly raped by Bablu, the son of a local hotel owner, on April 2 after being given a drink of 'bhang' (cannabis derivative).
She alleged that Bablu had also robbed her of Rs 54,000.
A case was registered and the Japanese embassy in New Delhi was informed of the complaint and the action taken.
