Mumbai, Dec 13: Actor Salman Khan, who spoke strongly on everyone standing up against injustice, at the launch of the teaser of his upcoming movie 'Jai Ho', said that the people who stand by as mute spectators when a crime is being committed are as guilty of the crime as those who committed it themselves. With the movement initiated by Anna Hazare, the country's collective cry for justice for Nirbhaya and the common man voting for the rise of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) have all contributed to people sitting up and taking notice of the power of the common man. The strong sentiment is echoed in the teaser for the film as Major Jai Agnihotri (Salman Khan) warns the world that the common man is a sleeping lion who must not be disturbed. If he (common man) wakes he will rip-apart everyone in his path.
While his enumerable eagerly await his latest movie, the current shift in the political scenario seems to have heightened the excitement and as with any Salman movie, the whole country awaits the release of Jai Ho with bated breath. Salman endears himself to his audiences as he beats the life out of the bad guys and the goons in his fight for justice and what he believes to be right. In the context of his real life too, Salman, at the press conference said that he had stood for justice every single time. In the movie, Salman takes on politician Danny Denzonpa who seems to test the patience of the common man one too many times and in doing do incurs the wrath of the 'aam aadmi'. Directed by Sohail and Arbaaz Khan the movie also stars Tabu as Riya Agnihotri - Jai's sister. Produced by Sunil Lulla and Sohail Khan, the movie is set to release on 24th January, 2014.
Fielding more questions, Salman said that while stardom was good, it was important to be prepared for the day it deserts the star. He added that the absence of stardom would definitely hurt. He also said that while he admired Superstar Rajinikant, he would be very happy if he could come even close to becoming the wonderful person that Rajinikant is. He strongly believed that he enjoyed stardom only because of the love and adoration he received from his fans.
