Mumbai, Apr 25: In view of starting the junior college from the next academic year at the St John Evangelist Educational Institute, a get-together was held at MIG Cricket Club, Bandra here, on Saturday April 22.

Fr Alexander Lobo, correspondent of St John Evangelist School, Pangla and ‘Best Teacher’ state level award recipient, was the chief guest. Albert W D’Souza, working president, Model Co-operative Bank, entrepreneur, Rachana Award recipient, presided over the get-together.

In his address, Fr Alexander Lobo said that education should never become a punishment.  “Students should enjoy the entire process of education and should go through it joyfully,” said he.

Present on the dais were H R Alva, former vice-president, St John Evangelist Church, Pangla, Antony D’Sa, vice-president, John Lobo, headmaster, Clara Mendonca, headmistress and eminent poet J B Sequeira, as guests of honour.

Other dignitaries present on the occasion were L Amin, president, president, Mumbai unit of BJP South India zonel, Felix A D’Souza Taccode, Trade Union leader and Congress chief,  John S Rebello, John D’Silva, president, Fuddar Prathisthan, Vincent Mathias, working president, Christian Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Rony Mendonca Bandra, William Sequeira Mulund, Maxim Mathias, Conald Baptist, Walter D’Souza Kemman, Leo Fernandes Jeri Mery, Richard W Moras Siddakatte, advocate Pius Vas and Harry S Ferrar.

Charles D’Cunha compered the programme while Henry Lobo gave the vote of thanks.
