Mumbai, Dec 13 (IANS): Designer Jaya Misra, who worked extensively with Bengal weavers, paid an ode to open minded, carefree and fun loving people with her resortwear collection Friday at India Resortwear Fashion Week (IRFW) 2013.
"The inspiration has been taken from bohemian lifestyle. In today's lifestyle, 'bohemian' symbolises people, who live unconventional and artistic lives. So my collection is a tribute to all those open minded, carefree and fun loving people," said Misra at the second day of IRFW here.
The collection encapsulates a mix of kaftans, cover ups in flares, layers and asymmetrical cuts in fabrics that range from chiffon to satin.
Highlighting the design elements in her garments, she said, "Interesting kimono and raglan sleeves added twist to the resort wear range".
"And clearly shows the confidence of bohemians who enjoy their lives to the fullest and love their liberty. The pattern used for the collection links each design with other, but at the same time each design stands out differently," said the designer.
One of the highpoints of the design was the use of bright colours - from the shades of ink blue, mint green, fuchsia, to mint blue. According to the designer, "colours are the basic life line of a collection."
