Easter Celebrations at Holy Family Church, Chakala - Mumbai
Today at Holy Family Church, Chakala, thousands of Konkani speaking people attended the Easter Vigil service in Konkani. The main celebrant of the whole Liturgy was Fr. Richard Lasrado from Sahar Parish. He said the word Vigil means Watch.
The Liturgy has four parts:
I. The service of the light.
II. Listening to the Word of God
III. Blessing of water
IV. The Liturgy of the Eucharist.
He said "Easter is the Good News that God keeps coming in the middle and muddle of our daily schedule. Easter brings the footsteps of the Risen Saviour through the muddy mixture of our joys and sorrows, triumphs and failures, sickness and health, life and death. He comes through our life's gardens - wet with tears of sorrow, despair and shame, turning them into the
dew of joy, peace and hope. The Risen Lord keeps coming to touch and heal our wounds in whatever trap we are caught up."
