New Delhi, Nov 26 (IANS): Women organisations in the national capital Tuesday staged a rally, demanding the arrest of Tehelka editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal, accused of sexually assaulting a woman colleague.
The protest organised by Matri Shakti and Durga Vahini - the women's wings of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad - at Jantar Mantar here questioned the silence of politicians on the issue.
"Why are high-profile people like Tehelka editor Tarun Tejpal and his associates being protected and the political circle keeping silent on the issue," questioned Sanjana Chaudhary, state head of Durga Vahini.
The women's groups submitted a memorandum to President Pranab Mukherjee, seeking immediate arrest of Tejpal.
