Mumbai, Nov 24: One needs to be totally committed to social service to be like Kairabettu Vishwanat Bhat who has been fully involved in education, religion and social service for integral development of the society. The humanity thrives with Sri Krishna Vittal Pratistan that has set an example to future generation, said MLA Gopal C Shetty.
MLA Shetty was speaking after conducting a motion for sixteenth anniversary of Sri Krishna Vittal Pratistan, during a function held at Divya Sagar Lawn, Goregaon (East) here on Sunday November 24.
The Pratistan founder and Vedic celebrant Kairabettu Vishwanat Bhat performed religious rites for universal peace and brotherhood.
Mahanand Dairy chairperson Vaishali Nagavade, Ville Parle MLA Krishna S Hegde and K R Pete MLA Narayan R Gowda were the guests of honor present on the occasion.
Social activists Ajit G Suvarna, Nagesh N Shetty, entrepreneurs Jayant S Shetty, Mudrady Divakar Shetty, Bannanje Yashwant Shetty, Lata P Shetty and others were present.
Annual awards were conferred to the following distinguished personalities for their extraordinary service in their respective spheres: Srinivas Bhat (vedic), Ambatanaya Mudrady (literature), Polya Laxminarayana Shetty (Yakshagana), Tara S Rao (Bharatanatyam), Dr Narayan Anchan Padubidri (medicine), Srinivas Kanchan (social service) and talent recognition to Nilisha K Shetty.
Devotional music programme was staged by different groups. Bangalore based School of Performing Arts presented ‘Mahamaya’, the dance recital. World renowned magician Professor Shankar and Junior Shankar from Udupi presented ‘Gili Gili’ magic show as part of entertainment programme.
The Pratistan vice president Gopal S Putran, Harish S Shetty, treasurer K Sadanand Upadhyaya, trustees Avinash Shastry, Virar Shankar Shetty, Surendra A Poojary, Suma V Bhat, Ramesh D Sawant, Ashok Kumar Shetty, Kukkehalli Sadanand Shetty, Harry R Sequeira, women wing president Sunanda S Upadhyaya, secretary Susheela Devadiga, executive Committee members and others were present on the occasion.
The founder president Vidwan Kairabettu Vishwanat Bhat welcomed the gathering. Laxminarayana Mucchintaya, Karnoor Mohan Rai, Ashok Pakkala, Susheela Devadiga and Poornima V Shetty compered the programme. Chief secretary Kalattoor Vishwanat Shetty proposed vote of thanks.
