Goans shine at Cricket Championship held at Uttarakhand

Panaji, Nov 25: Goan boys emerged Runner-Up and girls team emerged third place at the 21st Junior National Tennis Ball Cricket Championships held at Haridwar  Uttarakhand from November 21 to November 24.
 
Goa boys lost to Uttar Pradesh in the finals whereas Goa girls had to settle for 3rd place with Utter Pradesh girls.


Earlier Goa boys had defeated Chhatisgarh in the semi-finals whereas Goa girls lost to Chhatisgarh in the semi-finals.
 
Goa boys received a trophy and cash prize of Rs 11,000 and Goa girls received a trophy and cash prize of Rs 2500/-
 
The Goa boys team protested on the majority of UP players but were turned down by the organisers even after the technical committee acted in favour of Goa. Most of the UP players were over-aged.
 
Uttar Pradesh and Chhatisgarh emerged winners in the championship.
