New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS): Members of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) Friday protested outside the Tehelka office here, demanding arrest of its editor-in-chief Tarun Tejpal.
Police personnel have also been deployed outside his home.
As many as 50 ABVP members gathered outside Tehelka's C.R. Park area office in south Delhi and burnt copies of the English magazine. Policemen stationed outside the office controlled the protesters.
Meanwhile, following the protest, policemen were deployed at Tejpal's Jangpura residence in south Delhi.
"Arrangements have been made to prevent any kind of chaos outside the office. Policemen have also been deployed outside his residence," a police officer told IANS.
A case of sexual assault was registered against Tejpal in Goa Friday. The Goa Police have said a Crime Branch team will be sent to Delhi.
Tejpal is accused of sexually assaulting a junior woman colleague in a five-star hotel in Goa earlier this month.
"We will cooperate in the investigation. However, they (Goa Police team) have not yet reached Delhi," Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Deepak Mishra told IANS.
According to sources, the Goa Police team may reach Delhi by Friday night. They will question Tejpal and also collect letters exchanged between Tehelka Managing Editor Shoma Choudhury and the victim girl.
ABVP is the student wing of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.
