New Delhi, Nov 22 (IANS): The BJP's Delhi unit Saturday promised a comprehensive health insurance for all residents of the national capital, if the party was voted to power in the Dec 4 assembly election.
The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) chief ministerial candidate Harsh Vardhan said: "For a sum of Rs. 6 per day, every Delhi citizen will be insured for unlimited access to the state government's health infrastructure."
"There will be no need to carry any health card and instead people will be able to get a unique number after registering on-line," he added.
Further, people would be able to get unlimited check-ups for any condition in government hospitals and if a patient is not satisfied, he will get the facility to get treated in a private hospital.
"All citizens will be entitled to at least one complete health check up every six months. Home visits for senior citizens who cannot visit hospitals will be facilitated," he said.
Vowing to improve conditions in government hospitals, Harsh Vardhan said that put-patient treatment facilities will be doubled in every government hospital and posts of doctors and medical staff lying vacant would be filled up.
In addition, mobile clinics will be deployed all over Delhi.
