Kuwait, Nov 21: Kuwait Kannada Koota celebrated its annual mega event 'Karnataka Rajyotsava' at Cambridge School, Fahaheel.
The programme started with an invocation song followed by lightening the Lamp. Renowned poet, story writer, columnist, TV presenter and lyricist of Kannada films, Jayant Kaikini was the chief guest of the event.
Dinesh R, the president gave the welcome speech. The chief guest admired the Koota for their efforts in preserving and propagating the values of Kannada.
PR committee welcomed the guests and members in a traditional manner.
The entertainment program was presented by the Cultural committee of the Koota , under the theme “ Namma Aacharane, Namma Samskruthi" was based on festivals of Karnataka state. More than 160 members of the Koota with more than half of them being children,brought twelve festivals of the state live on stage. Each festival was presented in the form of dance, skits and commentary.
Another highlight of the program was the dance by 8 year old budding artist of Karnataka Poorvi K Rao. She enthralled the audience with her dancing abilities and versatility that defied gravity. KKK is proud to have given her an opportunity to perform on international platform.
Jayant Kaikini was honored in a traditional style.
The secretary of the Koota Ramesh P presented a vote of thanks. The mega event ended with a sumptuous dinner.
