Udupi: Deve Gowda compares Modi's rally to street dance

Udupi, Nov 19: "The rallies being held by BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Narendra Modi across the country in the name of 'Save India' campaign can be compared to the local street dance (domabarata)," said former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, national president of JD(S).
He was addressing reporters at the residence of JD(S) leader Vasanth Salian at Katapady here on Monday November 19.
"To strengthen the BJP party they are resorting to various tactics. But they cannot strengthen the party by holding rallies. If this could result in winning an election everyone would be conducting rallies," said Gowda.
"The Modi wave in the country is like a balloon. If you pump air into the balloon it will enlarge, but if it comes into contact with any sharp object it will burst. In the same way, Modi wave is spreading at a fast rate, but no one can say when it may suddenly stop," he said.
"In the political history of India those who announced themselves as Prime Ministerial candidates in advance have never been successful. By announcing the candidate name, BJP has activated its political gimmick. Only the Third Front has the key to decide the future Prime Minister. Neither BJP, Congress nor any political party can decide this. In the forthcoming elections JD(S) will emerge as a prominent political power in Karnataka," he said.
On this occasion JD(S) leader Vasanth Salian, Udupi district JD(S) president Devi Prasad Shetty, secretary Gulam Mohammed, Dakshina Kannada district JD(S) president MB Sadhashiva, secretary Mohammed Kunhi, Youth JD(S) district president Vasudev Rao, leaders like Yogish Shetty, Gangadhar Suvarna, Kamalaksha Suvarna were present.
