M'lore: Daiji Dubai workshop for students on Dec 1

Mangalore, Nov 18: Daiji Dubai, a Forum of Konkani writers in the UAE (India Unit) in association with local Konkani associations of Kinnigoly will organize a one day workshop for Konkani students studying in class V – X  “Aaj Ami Konkani Ulavyam” (Let’s speak in Konkani today) on Sunday December 1, at Quila, Moorukaveri, Kinnigolii from 8 am to 5 pm.

There will be no entry fee. Breakfast, lunch and evening tea including transport will be provided, participants will receive prizes and certificates.

Students from Mangalore will travel from Kankanady by bus at 8 am and will reach back by 7pm.

As part of this workshop, children will be introduced to nature by visiting rural houses, plantation, fields, jungle, water streams, etc and they will be briefed about Konkani’s culture and heritage, occupations, names of different beings, and living conditions.

The entry will be based on a 'First come first priority'. Safety and security will be provided by Ujwal Stree Sanghatan affiliated to Kinnigoli Parish.

    I wih this event, workshop for Konkani a grand success...i wish and pray that as many children as possible, mainly from urban areas would benefit from this workshop...certainly an innovative idea, the need of the hour to rekindle the love of our mother tongue in our konglish children..hats off to Hemacharya n team..
