Mangalore, Nov 14: The birth anniversary of India's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was celebrated at Corporation Bank head office in Pandeshwar on Thursday November 14.
The day is also celebrated as Children's Day, and hence children from different schools were part of the celebration.
S R Bansal, chairman, managing director of Corporation Bank in his address said, "Children in their tender age can be moulded easily and this is the stage where they can build good character as well as bad. At this age, it is parents and teachers who play a major role in the growth of the child," he said.
Addressing the students, he said, "In this materialistic world, there is a possibility that children can take the wrong path. Make your parents your best friends as they will guide you in the proper direction. Never forget your parents at any stage of your life and strive to take up good positions in society."
Pradeep Kumar Kalkura said children are the future of the country. "Along with good education, students should also follow culture and then no one can stop them in achieving success," he said, asking students to excel in all fields.
Executive directors Amarlal Daltani and B K Srivatsav, Bank general managers, T K Sudheer, Basheer Baikampady, Seva Dal members among others were present.
