New Delhi, Apr 6: The CBI has arrested three former Naval officers and conducted raids at 17 places, including a premise of Ravi Shankaran, a kin of Navy chief Admiral Arun Prakash, in connection with the Navy's War Room leak case.
Registering a case in a designated court here recently, CBI arrested Kulbhushan Parashar, a retired Navy officer, upon his arrival from London at Indira Gandhi International Airport late last night, CBI sources said.
Another officer, V K Jha, was arrested from Muzaffarpur in Bihar while Commander V Rana was arrested from Dwarka in the national capital.
The CBI was authorised by the government to probe only the Navy War Room leak case and not the much-publicised Scorpene submarine deal, which has been marred by controversy with opposition parties alleging payment to middle men in the deal.
Raids were conducted at 17 places including the national capital, Goa, Chandigarh and Mumbai. The places include a premise of Ravi Shankaran, a relative of Navy chief Admiral Arun Prakash.
The investigating agency registered the case in connection with the leakage under the Official Secrets Act after the Defence Ministry had handed over investigations to it, they said.
