UAE oil firm announces new crude blend


Abu Dhabi, Nov 12 (IANS/WAM): The Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Tuesday announced that it will blend its Lower Zakum and Umm Shaif crude oils into a new export crude called Das crude.

The export of the Das crude is expected to start in July 2014, according to Ali Rashid Al-Jarwan, chief executive officer of Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO).

The announcement of the new crude was made by Al Jarwan and Sultan Al Muhairi, marketing and refining director of ADNOC, at a press conference on the sidelines of the current Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC 2013).

The Lower Zakum and Umm Shaif crudes are produced by ADMA-OPCO in its concession areas in the emirate of Abu Dhabi.
