Dubai, Apr 4: Jet Airways now introduce 'Instant Purchase Check fares' for sale in the Gulf and Middle East Region specially for Non-resident Indians and foreign nationals.

These fares are formulated and structured on Jet Air's immensely popular concept as available in India, offering substantial savings of up to 60 per cent on the normal economy class fares.

This move will make it very convenient and economical for Jet Airways passengers based overseas.

To avail these new lower fares, which come into effect from April 3, 2006, all that a passenger needs to do is to 'check' the availability at the time of booking and buy the ticket. This can be done much in advance or even closer to departure date and works on a first-come-first-serve basis.

All the travel agencies in the Gulf who deal with Jet Airways can instantly book and issue your tickets.

"This is exactly a scheme like 'Apex fare' which was popular in India. But until now this service was not available outside India. Though 'Apex fare' has been scrapped in India, this new scheme 'Instant Purchase Check fares' is expected to help thousands of domestic onward passengers," said Shakir Kantawala, Regional Manager - Sales & Marketing Gulf, Middle East and North Africa, while speaking to daijiworld.com

Jet overseas clients will continue to enjoy the additional 10 kgs baggage allowance as currently applicable on US Dollar fare tickets.

Kantawala said: "Our revenue management has set multiple fare levels for each city pair. These fares will be offered through the travel agents by computerized booking system based on the current flight profile and existing booked loads for the required flight at time of booking. The new fares are available on almost all our sectors across the Jet Airways domestic network"

"Currently online booking facility for this service is not available, passengers can booked," he said.

Travelling between Mumbai and Mangalore could now cost only USD 80 compared to the normal fare of USD 135. A ticket for Mumbai to Bangalore could cost anything between USD 70 to USD 145, compared to the normal fare of USD 165 and Delhi to Mumbai rates start at USD 90 compared to the normal USD 215.

Travel agents across the region can book these fares on their Global Distribution Systems. Waitlisted reservations and open-dated tickets will not be permitted. As the name suggests, reservation and ticketing of 'Instant Purchase Check Fares' have to be done simultaneously.

Passengers also have the flexibility to change their travel plans or refund their unutilized tickets before departure date, by paying USD 25.

Members of Jet Air's Frequent Flier Program, 'Jet Privilege' can also accrue miles when they travel on these fares.

Every 5 minutes Jet Airways connects a city within India and will most probably have a flight option for the Indian expatriate friends arriving into any Indian gateway point, to take them to their hometown.

Such innovative promotions have helped Jet Air optimize their capacity utilization. REcently the firm set a new record in the history of Indian Civil Aviation by flying 36,406 passengers in one single day with a seat factor of 86%.
