Mangalore: Bunts Sangha elections: It's Sadananda Shetty vs Ajith Kumar Malady

Mangalore, Nov 10: The elections for the coveted post of president and office-bearers of Bunt alias Nadavara Mathr Sangha, Mangalore was held at Ramakrishna College in the city and in several other centers of various taluks on Sunday November 10. The association is the main body of the Bunt community.
Educationalist A Sadananda Shetty and businessman Kodialguttu Ajith Kumar Malady are in the race for the post of president. Both of them have served as president before.
However, this year, the run-up to the election witnessed some conflict after both parties went public and criticized each other for taking the association to the ‘worst’ level and also to court due to the internal fights in the association.
The polling started at 10 am and ended in the evening. The polling took place in each of the taluks like Mangalore, Puttur, Kundapur, Sullia, Bantwal, Karkala, Beltangady and also in Udupi. Mangalore makes up for at least 5,000 of the total 13,700 votes put together in all the centers.
The counting and result will be announced on November 13.
Apart from the post of president, there are 20 other candidates contesting for the posts of office-bearers.
