New Delhi, Nov 8 (IANS): President Pranab Mukherjee Friday met Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, and praised his involvement in charity work of many years in India.
"India and Britain's bilateral relations are in an excellent state. Both countries share a deep commitment to the principles of liberty, democracy, freedom of expression and the rule of law," a statement quoted Mukherjee as saying.
He said the relationship between the two countries is bound to reach new levels qualitatively, since they shared history, democratic values and institutions.
Mukherjee said British Prime Minister David Cameron's visit in February was marked by a number of good initiatives.
Charles, the eldest child and heir apparent of Queen Elizabeth II, has been visiting India for over 40 years now.
